Electrical  Engineering is all about designing, developing and maintaining electrical power and control systems. For example, they provide lighting, heating and ventilation for buildings, they make sure that our transport networks run efficiently and safely, they help to power the manufacturing and construction industries, and they play a crucial role in the production and distribution of power.

Each unit is further split into bite sized topics to make studying easier via our online Moodle education platform. You will be assessed as you work through each topic, so there is no large end of course assessment. Some units will make use of free simulation software and also remember you have access to your tutor every step of the way.

We currently offer a standard 6 unit Award with the option to upgrade to a 9 unit Certificate. Both will be accepted as meeting the entry requirements to our  HNC Electrical & Electronic Engineering course (6 unit requires merits, and 9 unit requires pass grades overall)

Upgrades

If you already have already completed a BTEC level 3 3-unit engineering course , you may be able to upgrade to a BTEC 6-unit Award by completing only 3 additional units. These may be core, technical or a mix of units depending on your current qualifications. (Re-registration will apply to older QCF Level 3 – contact admin@tecol.co.uk).
