How do I set up monthly payments?

Once you have paid your deposit our administration team will be in touch to set up your direct debit.

When can I start my course?

All our courses can be started any day of the year. Just purchase your course via our website or contact us to get an invoice for a BACS payment

Are the courses offered the same as those studied in the traditional colleges in the UK?

Yes, our courses are fully accredited by Pearson (BTEC) and are also the same courses that are offered around the UK in traditional colleges. The difference is that we tailor these for distance learning online so that learners can study and complete the courses at their own pace and in their own time with our support all the way.

Can I use a HND to progress to university?

Yes, many UK universities will permit learners to progress and complete a degree (level 6) after completing a HND (level 5). This can be done in 1 year full time or spread over a few years part-time using distance learning.

Can I resubmit an assessment?

Assessor tutors will give very detailed feedback on all assessments allowing you the opportunity to resubmit corrections if required.

What support is provided from tutors?

Course support from tutors is available via telephone, email and live video calls.

Do you accept ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credits)?

Yes, we accept ELCAS credits. Simply send your approval proof through to admin@tecol.co.uk to get started.

Can my employer pay for the course?

Yes, simply request an invoice for BACS payment or pay directly through our website using Credit/Debit card or PayPal.

Can I get a refund if I decide that the course is not for me?

Yes, we will offer a refund within 14 days.

Can I complete a HND without completing a HNC?

A HNC consists of 8 x level 4 units which permits you to then topup to a HND by adding 7 x level 5 units. Alternatively you can purchase the full HND (consisting of the 8 x level 4 and 7 x level 5 units) initially and receive a considerable saving. Therefore a HND actually includes the HNC units.

Can I progress from level 3 to HNC or HND?

Yes, we would accept leaners achieving an average Merit grade at level 3 (min 6 units) to progress to HNC or HND and note that you will also receive a loyalty discount!

What is a HNC or HND?

A university degree is usually 3 years and consists of year 1 (level4), year 2 (level 5) and finally year 3 (level 6). A HNC is equivalent to year 1 (level 4) and a HND is equivalent to year 2 (level 5).

Can I complete a course whilst working full time?

Yes, most of our learners are working full time and really benefit from the opportunity to study online without having to travel and attend traditional classes at college. You can arrange your own time so that you complete your course when and where it suits you with our support throughout.

Do I have to attend any actual place of study?

No, all learning and assessment is entirely online.

Are there exams?

No, all courses are assessed by continual assessment as you progress through the various units in your course.

Is there a time restriction as to how quickly I can complete the course?

No, you can complete the course as quickly as you wish and we will work with you at your pace.

Is there an induction after I purchase?

Yes, ALL learners will go through our extensive induction at the very start of the course so that you are fully aware of what to do and how to go about it. During the induction we shall answer any questions that you might have.

If something happens can I freeze my course for a while?

Yes, simply contact us and we can permit a few months break.

I completed some units with another learning provider. Can I use these towards a course with TECOL?

Yes, this may be possible so please contact us and we can provide options at admin@tecol.co.uk
