Welcome to TECOL, the online Technical Education Centre for Open Learning. We provide the opportunity to up-skill through a range of fully accredited Pearson BTEC technical qualifications to enhance your existing skills and career development.
Preparing you for career success!
Learning is self-paced and can be done when and where it suits you. We provide access to technical education at BTEC Levels 3, 4 and 5 to those in work and where attending local colleges is not feasible, especially who work shifts, or regularly have to work or travel overseas.
Engineering
As an alternative to attending college, TECOL offers a range of on-line BTEC level-3 engineering pathways including, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Automotive. Upgrade options to further develop your qualifications from Awards to Certificates to Diplomas allows you build your qualification as your technical competence and skills grow.
BTEC L4 HNC and L5 HND Engineering on-line qualifications provide the next step up from level 3. These on-line courses provide an excellent route into higher education and offer an alternative to university study in years 1 and 2, (transferring to university study for only your final year). We offer a range of HNC and HND engineering pathways including General, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Manufacturing and Operations.
Business
A BTEC Level-4 HNC Business qualification provides an excellent route into higher education and business careers and offer an alternative to university study. This qualification covers areas such as accounting principles, understanding how organisations operate, digital marketing, the role of human resources, developing small businesses and transforming innovation into commercial success.
Digital Technologies
The digital transformation of business has meant a high demand for people skilled in digital technology. This new HNC in Digital Technologies is ideal for those who need to up-skill or wish to enhance their career opportunities into the many exciting and high growth areas recently created by the digital revolution. This course covers digital transformation, working in the cloud, cyber security, big data, databases, web site development and modern programming.
